Our services

Consultation and Assessment

We do our best to target goals that are requested to us, however a proper evaluation will be necessary to ensure goals are realistic and achievable within a reasonable timeframe. Our options include:

  • informal screenings which are typically shorter in length and may include a brief written summary upon request for an additional fee

  • formal assessments which will include standardized testing tools and a formal written report included into the fees.

  • Sessions will typically include some dynamic testing from time to time to evaluate progress and update goals if necessary.

Therapy

We provide an individualized therapy program developed by a qualified speech language pathologist. We will address specific concerns, discuss treatment goals, and implementation methods. We strive to provide a safe and fun environment for our clients which may include rapport building with our little ones, family coaching, or getting straight to work with our clients that want to jump right in! We will do our best to explain each sessions’ goals and approach, using up to date research, the clients needs and interest, as well as our clinical expertise. Sessions can be in your home, at an agreed upon location (e.g., school), virtually (i.e., teletherapy), or at our home office. See our Areas of Practice for more information.

Other Services

Other services may include time spent outside of therapy sessions, thus indirect hours including: referrals, letters of support, comprehensive assessment report, guidance regarding applications to subsidies/funding (e.g., FSCD), and/or collaboration or formal meetings with medical/community/school teams (e.g., IEPs, ISPPs). Additional fees will be discussed regarding any indirect hours or other services.

Land Acknowledgement

At Spoken Harmony, we both acknowledge and pay tribute to the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which include the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3. Our home office is situated on land Northwest of where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, a site traditionally known as Moh’kins’tsis to the Blackfoot, Wîchîspa to the Stoney Nakoda, and Guts’ists’i to the Tsuut’ina. On this land and in this place we strive to learn together, walk together, and grow together “in a good way.”
